Manufacture Your Day by PRACTICING THE PAUSE

In order to display leadership skills in your daily life, you have to continuously work on becoming a better person. I speak from experience, it can be so difficult at times.
A title doesn’t make you a leader. Your actions do.
I know that you are busy every day. There are a lot of demands coming your way. The work hours are never enough to finish all your tasks and often you may still have to work at home or at least check your emails. Do I get that right?
As long as you remember that you can be in control, you will be.
Our external circumstances don’t determine how far we can go. It is our internal world and response mechanisms that determine whether we achieve good, great, or terrible results in our lives.
Have you ever heard of the situation–response formula?
Situation (10%) + Your Response (90%) = Outcome
Many if not most people react from an emotional state. That’s why the constant firefighting mode in manufacturing companies is so detrimental to the outcome management would like to see.
If you “react” (fear, stress, pressure) to situations, you are in your emotional mind. When emotions are high, intelligence is low.
The key is to pause, think and respond responsibly. That’s when you enter your intelligent mind. Have you ever considered that acting responsibly means having the ability to respond?
Having said this, I encourage you to practice the “PAUSE”. Make every opportunity a learning opportunity. This pause will help you that you don’t fall into your “default operating system”. Once you learn how to pause, you will be able to respond differently and with that, you will get different results.
Just remember the tremendous power you have by pausing and stopping yourself from doing something that you may regret later.
Pause and be awesome!
