Manufacture Your Day by STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS
Making assumptions can be pretty dangerous, yet people do it all the time. What would it be like if people in manufacturing environments would be able to stop making assumptions?
People make assumptions instead of
- listening with the intent to understand.
- waiting for people to finish their sentences.
- asking open-ended questions.
The Cambridge Dictionary states that, “an assumption is something that you accept as true without question or proof.”
Did you know that we often make assumptions that are based on our own beliefs?
Just last week someone told me that he had a conversation with his boss. He told me that his boss interrupted him because he thought that he would say something else. It was pretty embarrassing for the boss when he realized that he jumped to early conclusions.
We miss out on many things when we make assumptions.
Are you ready to create new experiences?
1. Opportunity – Learn Something New
There is something amazing about listening to other people’s thoughts and perspectives.
2. Curiosity – The Spice of Life
Only if you ask, you will learn, grow and expand your horizon.
3. Discovery – Be Open to Explore
Things aren’t always what they seem. You have to get the whole story.
Oh, all the assumptions we make about other people… Stop talking yourself into things that you don’t know for sure. Deal?
