Manufacture Your Day by SMILING
It is Monday morning and your facial expressions will set the tone for the day.
Did you know that smiling can trick your brain into happiness and boost your health?
In my experience smiling absolutely changes how I think and feel but there is much more to a smile. Science has shown that the mere act of smiling can lift your mood, lower stress, boost your immune system and possibly even prolong your life.
It is true, forcing a fake smile can do wonders. Researchers at the university of Kansas published findings that smiling helps reduce the body’s response to stress and lower heart rate in tense situations.
My tip for today:
If you have a bad day, go to the washroom and smile for 1 minute straight (it must be no less than 1 minute). Time yourself.
A smile spurs a chemical reaction in the brain and it doesn’t matter if it is fake or not. The brain doesn’t know that. You will get all the benefits that I mentioned above.
If you want to act preventative, be intentional and smile for 1 minute in the morning to supercharge your mood.
Don’t take my word for it, just try it and see for yourself.
Smiling is contagious and that’s also how you can do something good for the people around you.
