Manufacture Your Day by REDEFINING THE PROBLEM
Everything in life is a matter of perspective.
When I came to Canada in May 2003 I had many “barriers” that could have prevented me from moving towards my dreams.
- I had no job. I had no work permit.
- My English wasn’t great.
- I had no confidence.
- I had no resources.
- I had no family here and it would take a while to make “real” friends.
Fortunately I have never paid too much attention to what I did not have. I knew that I had the passion, drive and persistence to make things work.
Past experience has shown that when you don’t have enough resources (time, contacts, money, support, etc.), you become very resourceful. This was certainly true for me.
Every person can provide value and every person should find out how.
I have learned a lot about myself along the way, and today I know that I am quite a natural when it comes to connecting with people.
I like people and I have always showed an interest in the people around me. I wish that I would have known earlier that my ability to communicate and connect is one of my greatest attributes.
Why do I tell you this?
I want you to be interested, not interesting.
If you experience barriers in your personal and/or professional life, please know that there are always people available who are willing to go the extra mile in order to help and to support.
They will help you to scale the wall. They will redefine the problem. They will help you to find a better way.
All you have to do is to ask, shut up and listen.
