Manufacture Your Day by PUTTING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE

Happy Monday!
I am so glad to see you here reading my message and I am happy that I was able to write it, and here is why.
Last week on Friday my husband and I were victims of a residential robbery. These thieves actually just left the house when we came in. It was like in a bad movie.
While this was quite an unpleasant and quite shocking experience, we learned a lot of ourselves on Friday night.
I am always up for new and exciting adventure, and getting interviewed in a police car for a police report was a first for me. While I certainly don’t want to repeat this experience, it gave me insight how fast things can change. You could lose everything you own. You could lose a loved one, your job or your life.
Let’s never forget that and keep things in perspective.
Here is what we learned that day:
- life can change in an instant
- never take anything for granted
- be grateful for what you have
- people and relationships are more important than things – so grateful that nothing happened to us
- if you cannot change something, accept it and let it go
My 2 laptops were stolen and my first thought was, “OMG, how will I write my message for Monday.” My work was backed up for the most part but I still had to go out and buy a new laptop.
It was very interesting for me to realize that I am not attached to things. Things can be replaced. There is always an opportunity to make more money. Life has to be appreciated because there is something good in every bad situation.
Today I would like to leave you with the following thoughts for the beginning of the week:
-
someone else will have it always worse than you
-
smile because it will make any situation better
-
sometimes we win, sometimes we learn
-
shift your focus on your health and well-being instead of material things – shifting your perspective becomes a game changer
-
even when bad things happen, it is important to believe in the good in people
I am an unwavering optimist and it has served me well in my life. I refuse to give up on people (even on thieves). If this message inspires you today, go and challenge the way you think. If you start to think different, you will live different.
I promise!
