Manufacture Your Day by KNOWING THAT THERE ARE 3 GROUPS OF PEOPLE

It is Friday and my goal today is to make you think about your personal self-development.

How do you stay current in a constantly changing world? What new skills have you learned over the course of last year? How many books have you read? How many podcasts have you listened to? How many educational videos have you watched?

Due to my work in the manufacturing industry I meet so many people and I love it. If I could bottle my passion to pass it along to others, I definitely would. My work to help people live healthier, happier and more productive lives is very fulfilling but it can also be frustrating when I notice people’s self-sabotaging behaviours.

Whenever I facilitate a workshop or when I start working with a new coaching client I inform them that they will be subscribed to my daily blog. All they have to do is to read my messages to provide them with new insights and ideas.

I would like to borrow Michael Jordan’s definition of 3 different groups of people and explain their behaviours related to the people I have met over the years.

1. Some People Want it to Happen:

They are enthusiastic about change. They are open-minded and eager to learn something new. However, these people aren’t really good in execution and miss out on making a plan that involves consistent action to better their lives. They start reading my messages but they don’t keep it up consistently and then the acquired knowledge starts to fade out.

2. Some Wish it Would Happen:

Our world is filled with “wishers”, and they are often dissatisfied with their personal and/or professional life. Unfortunately they rather wait for outside circumstances to change. Whining and complaining is always easier than doing something about it. They are not willing to put in the work to educate themselves on how to make better choices and develop mental strength. They always have excuses – no time, too many emails, bad circumstances.

3. Others Make it Happen:

They get new tools and they make a plan to start applying what they have learned. They not only read my messages on a very regular basis but they share it with family members and friends and knowledge application is a very important part of their process. In short they feed their mind with good stuff.

It is amazing to see the difference in people who are in category 3. Their outlook on life starts to change because they put in the work to develop a positive mental attitude.

It is so true:

Excuses or Results, you cannot have both.
