Manufacture Your Day by HAVING A “REAL” CONVERSATION
Most of us are not curious enough to really hear what the other person has to say. We want to bring our point across and ideally everyone else should agree. Am I right?
Here is something for you to try when you completely disagree with someone.
Be curious instead of furious. Ask questions such as, “What was this like?” or “How do you think we can make this work?” or “Where should we get started?” or statements such as, “Help me understand where you are coming from.” or “Tell me more about it.”
Stay with the person and their experience (don’t give advice) and listen, listen, listen.
Listen with intent to understand instead of with the intent to reply.
The outcome will be astounding.
