Manufacture Your Day by “GOING FOR IT”
How often have you wanted to do something but you were super successful in talking yourself out of it before you even got started?
Welcome to the club!
I want to explain something to you about our brain. When we want to try something new our fears get activated. We have no data about this new situation, so our brain tries to protect us by going into confirmation mode and finding proof of why this won’t work.
This is the brain’s way to preserve energy and find the easy way out. That’s how we start making excuses and stop before we have even set one single action.
I go through this “stay fearless process” all the time. This is part of being an entrepreneur.
As an enthusiastic cyclist, I can tell you that running beside your bike is inefficient. You have to stop to get on the bike if you really want to go places. The same is true for leadership. There are still way too many leaders who live in fear but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Especially during these times of uncertainty, it is so important to push yourself out of your comfort zone by trying new things.
I am convinced that the people in businesses who are resistant to change, and hope things will “go back to normal,” will have a difficult time thriving in this new economy.
Everyone has to learn to become more…
- disruptive
- innovative and creative
- reflective
- curious
- driven by excellence
- interested in the people around them
in order to be at their best.
Never forget to be courageous. Taking risks will always pay off. Always!
