Manufacturing Leadership Executive Coaching

I absolutely love this quote because it is so true.

The decision making process is different for different people. Be aware.

I want to introduce to 4 very different decision makers with names that come from my imagination and any resemblance with “real people” is not intended.

1. Speedy Gonzales:

This is the kind of person who makes decisions rather fast and these decisions are often based on gut feeling. He/she sets very high standards and likes to make things happen. That’s why decisions have to be made fast.

2. Analytical Emma:

This person likes to solve problems and has the need to ask questions. Analysis Paralysis can overcome him/her because accuracy and the need to understand the “how” and “why” is important to this individual. However, this also slows down the decision making process.

3. Pros and Cons Sue:

This person is super organized and likes to read the fine print before making a decision. His/her decisions are based on collecting as many details as possible and feeling in control in the process  is important. Constant change may slow down the decision making skills as it causes frustration.

4. Relationship Rudy:

This person makes decisions based on the well-being of people. Consistent interactions with others are essential in the decision making process. Harmony at work is very important for this person. He/she cannot make immediate decisions and if forced, it will cause stress and frustration.

This means that some people make fast decisions and others take longer but the reasons can be very different.

When I lost my job at Magna due to restructuring I was in my late thirties. At the time I made the decision that nobody will ever have this kind of control over my life again, and that’s when I started my business.

It was a decision that was firm and fast, and I haven’t looked back once.

Every decision comes with a consequence and I was prepared to go all in.

Whatever decision you have to make in your personal or in your professional life, bite the bullet and go for it.

It doesn’t matter how you make your decisions, it’s just important that you aren’t afraid to make them. Conquer your fears and courage will become your friend.

If you think that you aren’t a good decision maker, awareness is a great start.

Decision making is a skill that can be learned and improved.

I am on your side. 100% and all the way.
