Manufacture Your Day by EXPECTING THE VERY BEST

Manufacturing Training - Good News

Happy Monday!

I am not going to lie, when I started my business, it was tough. There were times when I didn’t know how to pay the next month’s rent but somehow it always worked out.

Here are just some of the things I have done to move forward:

  • Write (and still do) a weekly marketing report: What have I accomplished this week? What am I going to accomplish next week?
  • Learn something new weekly, sometimes daily (still true).
  • Produce one video a week over the course of 2 years – yes, you can find more than 130 of my videos on YouTube. Then I stopped for a while and in January 2020 I have started to produce weekly videos again. If you haven’t already, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
  • Write 1 newsletter a month – in 2012 I started to write a daily blog with my  “Manufacture Your Day” messages because I believe that feeling good is not a coincidence. We all have to work at it.
  • Cold called 130 companies a week – I guess this is how I got resilient beyond measure.
  • Gave 1 free workshop a month at the local library – this is how I practiced my facilitation skills.
  • Wrote a book on “How to Make Manufacturing Sexy?” to get the attention of people in the industry.
  • Travelled at my own expense to conferences within Canada and to the United States to speak for free – if I was lucky I got dinner and a bottle of wine. Please note that I don’t have to do this anymore.

I made so many mistakes but I definitely made sure to learn from them.

Nothing is going to replace hard work but believing in yourself is probably the most important skill one can develop. I have learned that hoping is better than wishing, but expecting is better than hoping.

It is important to use the power of self-expectancy to push yourself to the next level.

I often write about the power of our thoughts because I know that they are key to everything we will or won’t accomplish in our life. Over the years I have worked very hard to condition myself.

Here is my personal positive self-talk, which kept me motivated during tough times:

I am ….

  • … only one phone call away from turning things around.
  • … not rejected, I am redirected.
  • … on the right track and my work has a tremendous impact.
  • … kind, positive and I make a difference in everything I do.
  • … in the position to get what I expect.

My story can be your story. Have the courage to expect the very best. Chances are that you will get it.

It’s Monday, and I wish you the mental strength to expect good news only.

Food for thought:

Are you always expecting the best?
