Manufacture Your Day by DOING THE RIGHT THING

Manufacturing - Doing Right Thing

I grew up in Austria, and my parents taught me to demonstrate integrity in whatever I do.

Having strong moral principles that guide us is important. It also makes the decision process so much easier. Doing the right thing can never be wrong.

When I started my business, a person at a networking event told me, “Karin, if you want to be successful in business, you have to lie, cheat and cut corners.

I refused to adopt this kind of belief. I believe in Karma and this is not how I want to conduct business.

It can definitely be difficult to be a good person. However, my moral compass always helps me to set my own standards high.

Here are a few things for you to consider:

Do you think you should care when you…..

  • park crooked over 2 parking spots?
  • are about to tell white lies in front of your children?
  • go shopping without bringing your own bags? (being conscious about the environment)
  • leave a mess in a public place?
  • lose your temper at work?
  • display bullying behaviour?
  • print at work for your personal use?
  • are late for a meeting?
  • litter while driving?
  • don’t keep your promises?
  • use your position of power to belittle others?
  • notice that the waiter made a mistake returning too much change?
  • don’t greet your co-workers?
  • see someone else being rude to a co-worker?
  • spill coffee without cleaning it up?

There will be times when we mess up, forget what we have committed to, or when we judge others too fast. All of this is o.k. because we are human and humans make mistakes.

Having said this, we should always do our best to get a little bit better day by day.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

How many people at your workplace are attempting to do the right thing?
