Manufacturing Discovering the Secret to Life

Have you ever wondered if there is a secret to life and to business?

Today I would like to introduce you to my unofficial mentor Richard Branson. For the past 12 years he has been one of my greatest role models when it comes to living life and to entrepreneurship.

I am so excited that I will get to see him at the Haste and Hustle Conference in Toronto on June 10th. He really is a person who I would love to meet in person;  participate in one of his crazy adventures; have a conversation with him about business and life.

Richard Branson has some pretty savvy business advice for every business owner, CEO, VP and Manager. Everyone can learn from his approach to business.

However, if you are a worker or an employee (as I was 12 1/2 years ago), I would like to tell you what his advice could mean to you.

There are always 2 sides to every story, and I want you to be in charge of yours.

Are you ready to be in control?

1. Always Go the Extra Mile

Do more than you get paid for – you do it for yourself, not for others. You will learn and grow in unimaginable ways. I promise that this attitude will pay off for you one way or another. If it doesn’t with your current employer, it will make you a very valuable asset for your future employer (or maybe you will be a business owner yourself one day).

2. Say “YES” to any Training Opportunity

Some people are miserable when they come to training sessions that are paid for by their employer. They think they have nothing left to learn. I encourage you to be grateful when you get this kind of opportunity because you can always learn something if you want to learn and keep an open mind.

3. Make Sure to Stand Out by Adding Value

Be aware that two things make you very valuable to your employer in your day to day interactions with others.

  1. Attitude = the quality of your energy
  2. Effort = the quantity of your energy

If you have both working in your favour, you will always come out ahead of the game.

If you are in the passenger seat of life, it is time to switch gears and move into the driver’s seat.

I have learned to become a life strategist and if I could, so can you.

Remember, I am your biggest fan!
