Manufacturing Workforce - Being Mentally Strategic

Have you ever read something that became a complete game-changer for you? For me, it was this quote. Mental strategies don’t happen by accident. You have to design them so that you know what to do and how to be when things don’t go your way.

Things started to shift for me when I managed to convince myself that everything that happens in my life, happens in my favour.

Even though it doesn’t seem to be good at the time, I truly believe that everything happens in my best interest. This has become such an awesome mental strategy for me and it helps me to overcome any difficult situation.

Nobody wants to be rejected but I don’t mind being re-directed, do you? The amazing thing is that looking back it has been proven to be true at all times.

While I went through very difficult times with my business in the beginning, I have realized that a huge part (if not all of it) of it was my mental and emotional state. I was fearful, frustrated and I tried too hard to find business in all the wrong places.

Do you know what I am talking about?

That’s why I want to share 3 important insights with you today:

1. Stay focused on what you want

It truly sucks when your brain tries to find proof that you’re a loser. Fear and self-doubt do this to us. We have all been there,  including me. When this happens I shift focus by telling myself

  • what I want
  • why I want it and
  • how this creates meaning in my and other people’s life

2. Set a Goal and make it SMART

Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound goals will help you to bring a dream into reality. Dream big! If this goal doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough.

3. Take Action by “Doing” and by “Being”

Both are equally important. Take one action step a day to move forward. Focus on what you will do and become more aware of who you have to become (i.e. more confident, kinder, calmer, self-motivated, persistent, better communicator, etc.) to get what you want.

If you do that, it is important to feel good about yourself and your efforts. This will help you to maintain a positive outlook rather than doubting yourself and getting too attached to the outcome.

Whatever happens, happens. Don’t stress and be in the flow. Everything is going to be o.k.

Food for Thought:

Wouldn’t it be cool if you would improve on becoming mentally strategic?
