Manufacturing Leadership Resilience Coaching

On January 9, 2007, I officially registered my own business.

It has been over 18 years of overcoming my own shortcomings, fears, and struggles. Where did the time go?

I can only tell you that I would have never grown as much as a person had I not taken on the challenge. I think I haven’t been in my comfort zone ever since, but this is also where the magic happens.

As someone who neither has a university degree nor an MBA and as a woman who knew next to nothing about business, I am just one of the many examples that showcase that passion and purpose are a very powerful combination.

Despite the financial struggles in my early beginnings, I have never had a Plan B. Many people asked me what I would do if things didn’t work out, and my response was always the same, “How can you be fully committed to Plan A when you already think about failure by making a Plan B?”

From day one, I had the vision of becoming the very best corporate training company for the manufacturing industry on an international level.

I like to dream big.

I can remember a business advisor from my early business days who told me, “Karin, you cannot even work your own backyard. How can you think about building your business internationally?”

Ouch. This was certainly a rather cruel comment, but looking back, it’s comments like this that have made me mentally stronger.

Are you ready for my mental strategy on this beautiful Thursday morning/afternoon/evening (wherever you are in the world)?

People cannot make you feel bad or inferior if you are in control of your emotional response and at times this can be tough but it is doable.

If people say things to you that you don’t like or that hurt you, you must find a way to smile. It is important to remove yourself from the situation and let it go, let it go, let it go…

Their comments (or their silence) come from their own experience and their own level of courage, and this has nothing to do with you. I encourage you to pause, think, and choose your response.

Ask yourself:

  • Is it worth it to get upset over this comment (silence)?
  • What does this person know about me?
  • How much will this matter in a week/month/year from now?

Isn’t it awesome that we have a choice?

Keep believing in yourself and your dreams. It will be worth it!

Food for Thought:

How can you cultivate a stronger belief in yourself and your abilities to overcome challenges and pursue your aspirations?
