Manufacture Your Day by BEING BRAVE
There are times when you need courage and I would like you to know that you can learn to become more courageous. Being courageous is a mental game.
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.” ― Meg Cabot
There are so many people who live life in fear – fear of losing the job, fear of being not good enough, fear of getting sick, fear of losing a partner, fear of not being able to pay all the bills, fear of not finding the right partner, fear of making a mistake, and the list goes on and on.
To be honest, there are times when life sucks. The time when I hit rock bottom was almost 12 years ago – single, no job and no money.
So many people told me that I wouldn’t have a chance in business as a fairly new immigrant, and there were countless times when self-doubt tried to overtake my positive outlook on things. I have hustled for a lot of things in my life and I can tell you that I had to learn to be brave.
Years ago a successful business owner said to me, “Karin, you gotta fake it till you make it.”
I am a big fan of keeping it real but somehow I agree. You have to convince yourself first. If you don’t believe in yourself and your abilities, why would someone else?
I would like you to consider a few things that have worked for me:
- Become an expert in your field – if you are confident and believe in yourself, it is easier to be brave.
- Face your fears and do something that scares you as often as you can – it gets easier and the magic happens outside of your comfort zone.
- Take action – analysis paralysis (overthinking) won’t serve you.
- Believe in yourself – you are braver than you think.
Here is to you and your dreams.
Even a goldfish can learn to swim with the sharks. I encourage you to go for it!
