Manufacture Your Day by BECOMING MORE OBSERVANT
Many people in our work environments are on autopilot. When I worked in the corporate world I was one of them.
It was go, go, go and rush, rush, rush all the time, no time to reflect and to learn how to do things possibly better and more effective.
Manufacturing groundhog day over and over again.
Please be aware that every difficult situation and every person who thinks and acts different than we do will offer an incredible opportunity to learn and to grow.
Literally every person who crosses our path can be a teacher. We learn whose attributes we truly admire and we also learn how we don’t want to be.
We all have a responsibility to grow and if we don’t, stress, worry and little frustrations take over our life.
“Nobody can learn for you. Nobody can grow for you. Nobody can seek for you. Nobody can do for you what you must do for yourself. Existence doesn’t allow for substitutes.”
~ Jorge Bucay
Here is what I recommend:
- Start a journal – in a book, on your phone, on your tablet
- Some of the best journal apps are called “Day One Journal”, “Momento” or “Journey”.
- Every day before you leave work, write down: What have I done well today? How did I help someone today? What have I learned today? What made me feel stressed today? What will I do better next time?
This doesn’t have to take long but it will help you to develop a strategy on how to handle certain situations better.
Reflect, learn and grow. This is YOUR responsibility.
