Manufacture Your Day by BECOMING MORE OBSERVANT

Manufacturing Frontline Learning Culture

How often do you drive to work and don’t even know how you got there?

Lost in thought and mindless at times. Am I right?

Many (if not most) people in our work environments are on autopilot. When I worked in the corporate world I was one of them.

It was always go, go, go and rush, rush, rush. All the time. There was no time to reflect and to learn how to do things possibly better and more effectively.

Manufacturing groundhog day over and over again…

Please be aware that every difficult situation and every person who thinks and acts differently than you will offer an incredible opportunity to learn and to grow

Literally, every person who crosses your path can be your teacher. You learn whose attributes you truly admire but you also learn how you don’t want to be.

We all have a responsibility to grow.

If you are unwilling to grow, you choose “sameness”, and stress, worry and little frustrations can take over your life.

Here is what I recommend:

  1. Start a journal – in a book, on your phone, on your tablet
  2. Some of the best journal apps are called “Day One Journal”, “Momento” or “Journey”.
  3. Every day before you leave work, answer these questions:
    • What have I done well today?
    • How did I help someone today?
    • Have I learned something new today?
    • What triggered stress today?
    • How can I do better next time?

This doesn’t have to take long. It will help you to develop a mental strategy on how to handle certain situations better.

Reflect, learn, and grow. This is YOUR responsibility.

Food for Thought:

Many people are in a rut because they don’t make use of their ability to get things done. What about you?
