Meet Marly Hurtado

marley-hurtadoMarly comes to Karico International Inc. from the Oil and Gas sector.

In the past fifteen years she has held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility in the Learning and Development field as well as Human Resources roles across several industries including logistics, energy, automation control, consulting engineering services, financial consulting, banking and hospitality.

In 2014, Marly graduated from the Oise Adult Learning and Development Program at the University of Toronto and completed Creativity studies at the Santiago de Compostela University in 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Industrial Psychology from the Central University of Venezuela and an Advanced Gestalt Coaching certification. She is also certified to deliver a variety of training programs from Development Dimensions International (DDI) and AchieveGlobal.

In the past ten years, she developed, implemented and delivered curriculum both in English and Spanish for a variety of soft skill learning programs (Leadership, Coaching for Performance and Development, Communication, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Career Goal-Setting, Positive and Constructive Feedback, Harassment Prevention, and Mentoring) to front line, managers and leadership teams, as well as Teambuilding and Onboarding programs within Fortune 500 companies such as Chevron and Honeywell.

Marly’s exceptional facilitation and coaching skills allow her to engage and develop leaders across levels, manage diverse group behaviours and mediate workplace conflict. She has a strong track record of exceeding training targets while creating savings and minimizing disruptions on the operations.

Over the last decade, she has implemented Best-in-Class practices to support new leader assimilation, employee engagement, leadership development, talent management, succession planning and employee relations in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Caribbean regions. She has also provided leaders with HR counseling with respect to employee performance, developmental issues, and refining workplace environments.

Marly provides a high level of enthusiasm and energy to new projects and is passionate about helping businesses achieve high performance through their people.

She is an active member of the Canadian Human Resources Professional Association (CHRPA) and volunteers as a job-searching skill presenter within the York Region Chapter. She is also a current member of the Institute for Performance and Learning.

Since 2013, Marly has become a regular Community Greener through her active and enthusiastic participation in the preservation of the wildlife habitat in the Greater Toronto Area.
