Manufacture Your Day by KEEPING YOUR HEAD UP

Tough times never last. They are current but not permanent.

One of the many awesome things I have learned from running is a strategy on how to conquer running up a steep hill. First I imagine the hill flat, then I pump my arms by my side to balance out the movement, and I keep my head up and look forward until I am on the top of the hill. My rule number 2 is to never stop while running uphill. Never! If a rest is needed, it has to be at the summit.

Years ago I had the bad habit to look down to my feet, which caused me to feel tired and discouraged, and more often than not I started to walk. This is no longer the case as I control my mind and not the other way around.

There are many parallels between running and life. After every uphill there is a downhill. You just have to learn how to enjoy the ups and downs, and you will get through it and become a more tenacious version of yourself. 

Winston Churchill used to say, “If you are going through hell, keep going.”

And I tell you, “Whatever happens in life, find the good in the situation and keep your head up at all times.”
