Manufacture Your Day by GIVING YOURSELF TIME

Every day I strive to get a little bit better in every area of my life – being more kind, more patient, more loving, more caring, more organized, and the list goes on and on and on.

My evaluation for this process?

I work with a coach and I am results oriented. I look back where I was at the same time a year ago and as long as I have made progress I know that I am on the right track.

As human beings we have to acknowledge that any kind of change takes time. Nothing sustainable will happen over night and without doing the work.

Here are my thoughts on the topic of personal self-transformation:

  • If you set a SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time bound) goal in any area of your life, it will increase your zest for life – no goal, no plan, no progress;
  • It is o.k. to make mistakes (you’re human) – as long as you learn from them;
  • Make the decision to be happy and joyful every day and observe how your life will improve – find a way to remind yourself when things get out of control (What is taking your joy away? What will it take to get back into your joyful mode?- find ways to be mindful every day, screen saver, coffee mug with a quote, mindfulness reminder as a phone application, switch your watch to the other arm, a picture on the wall, a mirror on your desk – just find something that works for you);
  • Things on the outside don’t control your mood – your power is on the inside by starting to think different thoughts;
  • Information doesn’t mean Transformation – you can read my emails every day but if you don’t take action, nothing is going to change;

When I work with my coachees they have to understand that transformation doesn’t come from me, transformation comes from them. They have to do 90% of the work – I just stimulate their thought process by making them think and helping them to look at their challenges from a different perspective. If they don’t show up for the call, if they don’t implement new actions, coaching doesn’t work. Nobody cannot help a non-committed person.

How has your life changed from last year to this year? If you find that you are still at the same place, who do you think has the power to change that?

Do what it takes. Your mind is setting your limits and I know that life has so much more in store for you.

Be patient. Your thoughts are the key.
