Manufacture Your Day by BEING DETERMINED

On January 9, 2007 I officially registered my own business.

Happy Anniversary to me and Karico International Inc.

It has been 12 years of overcoming my own shortcomings, fears and struggles. Where did the time go?

I can only tell you that I would have never grown as much as a person had I not taken the challenge. I think I haven’t been in my comfort zone ever since but this is also where the magic happens.

As someone who has neither an university degree nor a MBA, and as a woman who knew next to nothing about business, I am just one of the many examples who showcase that passion and purpose are a very powerful combination.

Despite the financial struggles in my early beginnings I have never had a Plan B. Many people asked me what I will do when things don’t work out and my response was always the same, “How can you be fully committed to Plan A when you already think about failure by making a Plan B?”

From day one I had the vision to become internationally the best corporate training company for the manufacturing industry.

I like to dream big. Is that a crime?

I can remember this business advisor in my early business days who told me, “Karin, you cannot even work your own backyard. How can you think about building your business internationally?”

Ouch. This was certainly a pretty cruel comment but looking back, it has been comments like this one that made me mentally stronger.

Are you ready for my mental strategy on this beautiful Thursday morning / afternoon / evening (wherever you are in the world)?

People cannot make you feel bad or inferior if you are in control of your emotional response.

If people say things to you that you don’t like or that hurt you, you must find a way to smile, remove yourself from the situation and let it go, let it go, let it go…

Their comments come from their own experience and their own level of courage, and this has nothing to do with you. I encourage you to pause, think  and choose your response.

Ask yourself:

  • Is it worth it to get upset over this comment?
  • What does this person know about me?
  • How much will this matter a week/month/year from now?

Isn’t it awesome that we have a choice?

Keep believing in yourself and in your dreams. It will be worth it!
